Founder Quotes for Media use

Dr. Sayli Natu

MAI, for me, is a bridge to the culture and language many women left behind but deeply wish to share with their children. As an American born and raised myself, I always longed for a connection to my Marathi roots, but with few Marathi families around me, I discovered the beauty and depth of the culture much later in life.

Through MAI, every tradition like Bhondla, Diwali Pahat, and Mangalagaur is more than a celebration; it is a chance for our North American-born kids to grow up surrounded by the Marathi spirit I once yearned for.

Dreams are coming true, and I am ever so grateful to everyone making it happen!

Kshitija Karmarkar

I remember the laughter that filled our festivals in Pune, the rhythm of folk songs, and the sense of togetherness that shaped my childhood. Moving away made me realize how deeply those moments formed my identity and strength.

Through MAI, we found a sisterhood of Marathi mothers who became Mavshis to other kids and friends-like-family to fellow Aais, something we all miss from back home. Each Aai brought back the warmth, guidance, and shared laughter that make a new country feel like home.

Through MAI’s chapters and hubs, we are not just celebrating traditions; we are rebuilding the emotional fabric of home for every mother and child, wherever they live.

Celebrity Partnerships & Brand Collaborations

The start of 2026 was a special moment for us. Renowned actor Ashvini Bhave graced our Makar Sankranti 2026 celebration in the Bay Area, California. In a candid conversation with Marathi mothers of the Bay, Ashvini Tai spoke about her life in the U.S. and the experience of raising culturally rooted children abroad.

With this meaningful beginning, MAI welcomes collaborations with celebrity mothers, community leaders, and aligned brands as we expand our events across the nation.
